REBELSCIENCE uses first-party analytics to understand which articles people read and to separate readership from automated requests. We do not use advertising trackers or send visitor information to an external analytics service.
Reading statistics
We measure pages visited, referral site, approximate country, browser/device family, active reading time and scroll depth. Country is looked up locally. Analytics does not store raw IP addresses: daily rotating keyed identifiers estimate visitors and sessions. These estimates can merge visitors sharing a network and do not identify people across days.
The reading module uses no analytics cookies or persistent browser identifiers. It respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If either is enabled, reading events are not sent. Server access logs are still needed to operate the website and investigate abuse.
Retention
Reading sessions are retained for up to 90 days; aggregated request records for up to 30 days. Operational access logs may contain IP addresses and have a short rotation policy of up to three days. Admin login uses a separate HttpOnly session cookie.
Videos and external links
YouTube players load only when you press Play. At that point your browser contacts YouTube. External payment platforms and social sites apply their own privacy policies when you visit them.
